The unprecedented world crisis caused by COVID-19 put 120 million direct tourism jobs at risk (UNWTO). The road to recovery requires multiple efforts from governments, institutions, employers, and associations like the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and Hosco working together to accelerate the recuperation of the hospitality industry and its workforce.
One of the cornerstones to restart tourism is supporting the creation of added value jobs. With that aim, on June 17th, 2021, UNWTO, in a key partnership with Hosco, launched the “Jobs Factory,” a platform that facilitates finding and securing new jobs at a global scale for hospitality professionals.
This innovative initiative, powered by Hosco's Artificial Intelligence technology, applies machine learning and deep learning algorithms to guide and match talent to employers, locally and internationally, continually supporting them in their career journeys.
UNWTO invites all its 159 Member States to adopt the “Jobs Factory” as their national job site, from Hosco, to help them simplify and speed up talent acquisition, solve employment shortage gaps, and promote competitiveness in the tourism sector.
UNWTO Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili says: “The pandemic has hit global tourism hard. Up to 120 million jobs are at risk. However, tourism has a long history of adapting and embracing innovation. The Jobs Factory will be a great help to the millions of people who depend on tourism. It connects employers with the very best talent our sector has to offer. And it will help our Member States make important decisions based on the latest, trusted data.”
Olivier Bracard, Hosco’s CEO, added: “Hospitality is all about people, and since March 2020, its workforce has been terribly affected, thus the industry as a whole. Hosco’s purpose of making hospitality an exciting journey for talent has never been so challenging yet so crucial, and we’re thrilled to be joining forces with UNWTO to expand the impact of our technology and expertise to its Member States. We’re confident that UNWTO’s Jobs Factory, powered by Hosco, will become a critical asset for governments, employers, and hospitality professionals as we embrace recovery.”
UNWTO’s key partnership marks a milestone for Hosco, bringing it one step closer to uniting the entire industry, from hospitality universities and educational institutions to employers, governments, and talent worldwide.
